Will the CAT Aspirants Get a Second Chance?

Will the Online Cat Exam Be a Success? Many CAT aspirants were not able to give online entrance examination this year due to the technical fault with the online examination. The disappointment, frustration and anxiety are writ large on the faces of these students. Huge number of students could not sit for entrance examination last Tuesday. And it was the last official scheduled day of the CAT Entrance examination this year. The assurance for the second chance was given by the Prometric centers. But the students are still waiting for the response. The Prometric centers failed to take the exam because of some technical problem.

The students who missed the examination were told that they would be notified through SMS’s or e-mail. Till now they haven’t got any response from the Prometric centers. The confusion was created because the online system crashed. Now the incident has also made the students suspicious of the results of the examination. The lucky students, who gave their examination, are in doubt about the results and proper checking of copies. They are unsure whether they could be able to crack the examination or not.

On the other hand the management gurus are looking very optimistic. As they feel that it is not the end for those students, who were unable to give the examination. Large numbers of students are already looking forward to the other forthcoming management entrance exams. The reputed coaching centers are not taking any break as they have to prepare students for the up-coming exams.

Other tests which are lined up are XLRI’s Xavier Admission Test (XAT) on January 3, Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) on December 20, IBSAT on December 27 and entrance exam for Faculty Management Sciences, Delhi University on January 10.

DU Teachers Go On Strike Again

DU Teachers on StrikeDelhi University Teachers stayed away from the classes in response of their strike for “stifling academic freedom”. Delhi University had proposed a biometric attendance system for their teachers and DUTA (Delhi University Teachers Association) was protesting against the decision taken by the board.

Instead of taking the classes, the teachers spent their day relaxing. Some of spent the day by soaking themselves in the warm sun and sipping in the tea with crispy pakoras. Last Monday, the proposal was being placed in front of the Executive Council. Delhi University is suspecting that DUTA must be trying to conceal those teachers who do not meet their academic responsibility properly.

On Monday the teachers from DUTA staged a dharna in front of the University Office, where the meeting was supposed to be held. Many teachers from different colleges stood up and spoke about the injustice going on.

Biometric attendance system is being employed to get a clear picture about the attendance of all the teachers. Unsure of how the system will actually work, teachers decided to protest against it.

Some of the teacher suspected that the councilor may have any hidden conspiracy. So the teachers association has decided to continue the protest till the matter is solved.
