Firms to Recruit Differently Abled Students from Delhi University

Equal Opportunities for Differently AbledThe effect of the recession is still going on in the third world countries. But more and more companies are showing keen interest to participate in the University’s Central Placement drive beginning on January 25. Central Placement Cell (CPC) officials are showing special interest in recruiting differently-abled students from DU. CPC has asked different college Principals for compiling the performance records of students in this category.

Last year, only two differently-abled students were recruited from Delhi University. This year the number is expected to rise.

CPC was started to recruit final year undergraduate from different colleges through a central recruitment process in 2008. CPC has made a stronghold with the University and companies are willing to recruit more students this time. CPC has also been promised a package of Rs 14-16 lakh. Forty-four students were recruited by five companies in the first placement session in December last year. This year eight new companies are participating in this placement marathon. And some of these companies are planning to recruit anywhere between 50 to 100 students together.

I really appreciate this move of providing equal employment opportunities to the differently abled students.

Delhi University Blog wishes best of luck to all the students participating in this placement session.

Students enrolled for DU’s three-year MTech programme would be spending third and fourth semester in Paris and they would be awarded a Master’s in nuclear energy. Once they come back from Paris and spend fourth and fifth semester in DU, they would get an MTech degree.

This new Master’s degree is also offered by University of Paris, Paris Tech( consortium of 12 French institutes ), Ecole Central Supelec and INSTN.

The industry-driven programme will be offered in collaboration with EDF and Areva — organizations working in the field of civil nuclear energy.

With this new collaboration Indian students will get a chance to work as an intern with EDF and Areva. Students interning with these organizations would get a chance to work at their nuclear reactor sites.

This course will provide students with an opportunity to gain practical knowledge of production of nuclear energy.

This new course will not only help the students in acquiring knowledge on cutting-edge technologies but will also prove beneficial for our nation. As we know that India faces a big power problems and nuclear energy is answer to it because very small amount of nuclear element can produce huge amount of energy.

Clinton is expected to deliver her speech at the convention hall in the Old Vice Regal Lodge in DU. But the bad news is; only a few students will be allowed on invitation.
