A lot of readers of this blog have asked me about the list of top 10 Universities/colleges in India. So, I’ve decided to publish a series of posts concentrating on the list of top 10 Universities, Top 10 Colleges and many more. So here is the list of top 10 Universities in India for the year 2009 (sorted in order).

And the good news is our very own Delhi University ranks at number 5 in this list. Not only in India but the reputation of the Delhi University has improved in the whole world. You’ll be surprised to know the fact that the University of Delhi ranked at 274th position in the 2008 world rankings for top Universities, but DU has now reached at 60th position (a huge jump of 214 positions).

Indian universities are not ranked in the top 100 world universities. for a list of the top 100 world universities refer : http://classroomonnet.blogspot.com/2009/10/world-university-rankings-top-100.html . It is taken from the official QS university rankings which is accepted all over the world. For your info : Top ranked indian university is IIT,Bombay at NO.163

IIT-Hyderabad- the top institute in the present built 8 new IIT’S set up in 2008 will become the no.1 institute before the next 3 years..im proud that IIT is located in hyderabad..

Wat the hell do u know abt the d.u and jnu … i agree that iit is best but widout getting into other universities how can u comment on their status…. DU is india’s best non-engineering university….. n naveen dere is a world beyond engineering……. more than 60 percent of All indian bureaucrats are from DU…. just dont comment widut knowing actuallity..
